What is paint protection film?
Paint protection film is a clear, Thermoplastic Polyurethane Paint Protection Film applied directly over your car’s paint. It absorbs the impact of stone chips and road debris, resists staining from tar and insects, and self-heals light swirl marks with warmth from the sun or hot water. Unlike a wax or sealant, PPF gives physical protection you can rely on for years.

Extended Front End paint protection film takes coverage further back across the car, protecting areas that a standard front end package leaves exposed. Full Car paint protection film is the highest level of protection we offer, wrapping every painted panel of your car in Profilm film. This is the choice for owners who want to keep their car in flawless condition, whether it is a new prestige car, a performance car or a vehicle you simply want to protect for the long term. As well as keeping the paint looking showroom fresh, full coverage reduces the need for paint correction or respraying down the line, and the film’s hydrophobic surface makes the whole car quicker and easier to clean. How we fit your paint protection film
A great PPF finish depends as much on the preparation and the installer as the film itself. Here is how we approach every fitting at our Plympton studio.
- Consultation: we discuss your car, how you use it and the coverage that makes sense, then give you a clear, free quote.
- Decontamination and prep: the car is thoroughly washed and decontaminated to remove bonded grime, tar and fallout, so the film bonds to a clean surface.
- Paint correction if needed: PPF locks in whatever is underneath, so we inspect the paint and, where required, machine polish out swirls and light scratches first.
- Precision fitting: the film is cut to fit your specific model and applied panel by panel, with edges wrapped and sealed for a clean, durable finish.
- Curing and inspection: the film is left to cure, then checked over in detail before your car is handed back.
PPF and ceramic coating together
Many of our clients combine PPF with a Titan ceramic coating. The film takes the physical hits while the coating adds a slick, hydrophobic top layer that makes washing easier and lifts the gloss. Applied together, they give your paint the most complete protection we offer.
Caring for your paint protection film
Paint protection film is low maintenance, but a little care keeps it performing and looking its best. Wash the car regularly using the two bucket method and a pH neutral shampoo, avoid automatic brush car washes, and dry with a soft microfibre towel. The self-healing topcoat lifts light marks with warmth, and the hydrophobic surface means dirt rinses away easily. We will talk you through aftercare when you collect your car.
