New Car Detailing and Protection
Give your new car the best possible start with professional new car detailing from Doyen Voss in Plympton. A new car rarely leaves the forecourt as flawless as you would expect, so we correct the marks left by transport and dealer prep, then protect the finish with a ceramic coating or paint protection film. The result is a car that looks better than new and stays that way.

Why does a new car need detailing?
It is easy to assume a brand new car is flawless, but very few are. Between the factory, the transporter and the dealer forecourt, paintwork picks up swirl marks, bonded contamination and uneven gloss long before you collect it. Dealer prep is usually a quick wash under time pressure, often with the wrong technique, which can add fine scratches rather than remove them.
Detailing your car when it is new means you start from a corrected, flawless base. It is far easier, and cheaper, to protect a perfect finish than to restore one after months of washing and driving have taken their toll. Get it right at the start and your car stays looking its best for years.

- Common issues on new car paint
- Swirl marks and fine scratches from rushed dealer washing
- Bonded contamination, industrial fallout and tar picked up in transit and storage
- Uneven or hazy gloss from poor preparation
- Adhesive and transit film residue left on panels and trim
- Grime built up in the wheels, shuts and trim before handover
What our new car detailing includes
Our new car detailing brings the paint to its best, then locks that finish in with the protection of your choice. Every car is treated as an individual project, not processed on a production line.
- A thorough wash and full paint decontamination to strip bonded fallout, tar and transit residue
- A paint inspection under proper lighting to assess swirls and defects
- Light machine correction to remove factory swirls and lift the gloss
- Your choice of protection, from a Titan ceramic coating to Profilm paint protection film
- Interior protection for fabric, leather and trim to keep the cabin looking new
- A final inspection before your car is handed back, with aftercare guidance

Choose your protection
New car detailing is the ideal moment to add protection, while the paint is at its very best. We will talk through the options and recommend what suits your car and how you use it.

Titan ceramic coating
A Titan ceramic coating bonds to your new paint to add depth of gloss and a hydrophobic, easy clean surface. Depending on the number of layers, it protects your paint from four years up to ten years, shielding it from UV fade, bird lime and light chemical staining while making every wash quicker and gentler. Ideal for keeping the whole car glossy and easy to maintain from day one.
Profilm paint protection film
For the highest level of physical protection, Profilm paint protection film shields your paint from stone chips, scratches and road debris. Choose front end coverage for the panels that take the most punishment, or full car coverage to protect every panel. The self-healing film is virtually invisible and keeps your car chip free for years.

Ceramic and PPF combined
For complete protection, we combine the two. Profilm PPF takes the physical hits on the most vulnerable panels, while a Titan ceramic coating adds slickness and gloss across the whole car. Together they give a new car the most thorough protection we offer.
Interior protection
A new interior is worth protecting too. We can apply fabric and leather protection that guards against spills and stains and keeps the cabin looking and feeling new for longer. We also offer interior PPF kits meaning high traffic areas are protected too.

New car detailing FAQs
Yes. New cars often arrive with swirl marks, contamination and uneven gloss from transport and dealer prep. Detailing corrects this and lets you protect a flawless finish from the start.
Factory paint has only a basic clear coat and no lasting protection. A ceramic coating or paint protection film adds the durable defence that keeps it looking new.
A ceramic coating adds gloss and easier cleaning across the whole car, while PPF gives physical protection against chips on the panels that need it most. Many new car owners choose both, and we will recommend what suits your car.
As soon as possible, ideally before you have driven it much, so we protect the paint before everyday driving adds wear and contamination.
Yes. Many clients bring their car to us within days of collection, and we are happy to discuss timing before you pick it up.
Yes. We inspect the paint and machine polish out the swirls and light scratches left by dealer prep before applying any protection.
No. These protect the paintwork and do not affect your vehicle’s mechanical warranty.
Dealer add-ons are often a quick sealant applied over unprepared paint. We correct the paint first, then apply a professional grade coating or film, for a far better and longer lasting result.
It depends on the level of correction and the protection you choose. A ceramic coating in particular needs time to cure, so we will confirm how long we need your car when we quote.
