Ceramic Coating
A ceramic coating gives your car a deep, lasting shine and a tough layer of protection that ordinary wax cannot match. At Doyen Voss we apply Titan ceramic coatings at our Plympton studio, serving Plymouth and the South Hams.
Experience ultimate protection and a stunning shine with our ceramic coating service. Our advanced ceramic coatings provide a durable layer of protection against scratches, UV rays and contaminants, keeping your car looking new for longer. Say goodbye to frequent waxing and hello to long-lasting brilliance with our ceramic coating solutions.

What a ceramic coating does
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your paint and cures into a hard, glossy layer. It is hydrophobic, so water and dirt struggle to cling on, the car stays cleaner for longer and washing becomes quicker and gentler. It also protects against UV, bird lime and the light chemical staining that dulls paint over time.
The coating only looks as good as the paint underneath, so we prepare and, where needed, correct the paintwork first, then seal that finish in. That is the difference between a coating applied over tired paint and one that locks in a flawless shine.
Information about dealership coating
If you were offered a ceramic coating when you bought your car, it is worth knowing it is rarely the same thing. Dealership coatings are usually applied quickly at handover, over paint that has not been properly prepared or corrected, which means any swirls and marks are simply sealed underneath.
They are often not a true professional ceramic coating, they do not tend to last, and there is usually no proper aftercare once you drive away, yet they are frequently expensive for what they are. A professional coating is a different thing entirely: the paint is decontaminated and corrected first, a genuine Titan coating is applied by hand, and you are supported afterwards. If you are weighing up a dealer add-on, it is worth talking to us first.

It adds hardness and resists light swirl marks, but it is not scratch proof. For protection against stone chips, paint protection film is the better choice, and the two work well together.

Use a pH neutral shampoo and the two bucket method. The hydrophobic surface releases dirt easily, so washing is quicker and gentler than on uncoated paint.
