Maintenance Wash

Keeping your car looking its best does not take a full detail every time.It takes a regular, careful wash by someone who knows what they are doing.
Our maintenance wash keeps your vehicle spotless and protects the finish, using the same safe methods and products we use on the cars we detail and coat at our Plympton studio. A clean car that stays clean, without the marks that bad washing leaves behind.

What is a maintenance wash?

A maintenance wash is a thorough, regular clean that keeps your car in top condition between details, or simply keeps a well kept car looking its best. It is more than a quick rinse. We wash, decontaminate where needed, clean the wheels and glass, and finish the car properly, always using methods that clean without marking the paint.

Regular maintenance cleans do two things. They keep your car looking its best, and they protect the paint and finish from the everyday environmental damage that builds up when a car is left dirty or washed badly. Plesae note that we only offer maintenance cleans on vehicles that have beem detailed by us.

What is included:

  • Pre-rinse and snow foam to lift loose dirt before anything touches the paint
  • Safe two bucket contact wash with pH neutral shampoo
  • Wheels, arches and tyres cleaned
  • Door shuts and sills
  • Glass cleaned inside and out
  • Safe drying with clean microfibre
  • Tyres dressed and a final finish

Why regular washing protects your car

Left on the paint, everyday contamination does real damage. Bird lime and tree sap etch into the clear coat. Road salt and industrial fallout eat away at the finish. UV fades and dulls the colour over time. The longer these sit, the more harm they do, and no amount of polishing later fully undoes etching that could have been washed off in time.

Washing regularly, and safely, removes these before they cause damage. It is the simplest and most cost effective way to keep your paint in the condition it is in now, rather than paying to correct it later.

Protecting your ceramic coating or paint protection film

If you have invested in a ceramic coating or paint protection film, how the car is washed matters even more. The wrong products can shorten the life of a coating, and harsh brushes can catch the edges of film.

Our maintenance wash uses coating safe products, so your protection lasts as long as it should and keeps beading and shedding water the way it did on day one. In most cases we know exactly what is on your car, because we applied it, so the wash is always matched to the protection.

The maintenance package

For the easiest way to keep your car right all year round, we offer a maintenance package: a regular wash, and interior clean, on a schedule that suits you, from monthly upwards.

The point is not only convenience. It is knowing the job is always done safely, with the correct products and processes, so your paint condition and any coating are never compromised. Your car stays in showroom condition without you having to think about it.

Maintenance wash or full detail: which do you need?

A maintenance wash keeps a car that is already in good condition looking its best. If the paint has picked up swirls, scratches or a dull finish, it needs correcting first with a detail or paint correction, and then a maintenance wash keeps that finish looking right.

We are happy to look at your car and tell you honestly which it needs. There is no point paying for correction if a good safe wash is all it wants, and no point maintaining a finish that would be transformed by correcting it first.

Maintenance wash FAQs

What is a maintenance wash?

A maintenance wash is a thorough, regular clean that keeps your car in top condition, using safe methods that clean without marking the paint. It covers the wash, wheels, glass and a proper finish.

How often should I have my car washed?

Roughly every two to four weeks suits most cars, and our maintenance package starts at monthly. Regular washing stops contaminants like bird lime and tar sitting long enough to damage the paint.

Can a maintenance wash be done on a ceramic coated car?

Yes, and it is worth doing properly. Coated cars need pH neutral, coating safe products so the coating is not stripped early. We use the correct products, so your coating lasts as long as it should.

What is the difference between a maintenance wash and a full detail?

A maintenance wash keeps a car in its current condition. A detail goes further, correcting the paint with machine polishing and then protecting it with a coating or film.

Do you offer a regular maintenance package?

Yes. We offer a regular wash and interior clean on a schedule that suits you, from monthly upwards, keeping your car in showroom condition all year round.

Will washing damage my paint?

Not when it is done properly. Most swirl marks come from bad washing rather than the road, so safe methods and the right products matter.

How long does a maintenance wash take?

It depends on the size and condition of the car. We will confirm how long we need it when you book.
