A GT3 Touring – Protected before its first proper drive
Some cars you never forget working on. This was one of them.
A client had ordered a new Porsche 911 GT3 Touring through Porsche Centre Exeter, one of the most sought after cars Porsche makes, and he wanted it protected properly before he drove it in anger. Rather than collect it and drive it home first, he had it sent straight to us.
The car arrived at our Plympton studio by covered transporter, shielded from road grime and stone chips from the moment it left the showroom. That matters on a car like this. The first proper miles should be the owner’s, not the transporter’s.
The brief was complete protection. Full car paint protection film, and ceramic coatings throughout.
We wrapped every painted panel in Profilm Lucent, our gloss film, backed by a ten year warranty. Every panel was templated and fitted by hand, so the coverage is invisible and the edges are clean. On a car this special, nothing less will do.
We then removed the wheels and coated them inside and out with Titan, calipers included, so brake dust lifts away and they stay easy to keep clean. The paint, the glass and the rest of the car were coated too, for a slick, hydrophobic finish that makes maintenance simple and holds the gloss for years.
Throughout the job, the owner was away on holiday. So we worked directly with the sales team at Porsche Centre Exeter and kept the client updated at each stage, so there was nothing to chase and nothing to worry about while he was away.
When the work was finished, we sent the car back to Porsche Centre Exeter by covered transport for the client to collect, exactly as a new Porsche should be handed over, flawless and fully protected.
